Happy (Belated) Chinese New Year!
On being sick & the cold outside 
It was inevitable. I was bound to get sick in this environment. Some days are strangely mild and most are bitterly cold (sometimes with wind, sometimes without). My throat hurts when I swallow, I feel a mild fatigue and my nose won’t stop running! WHERE IS ALL THIS STUFF COMING FROM?! I’m getting over it….slowly.

I had a pang of “homesickness” yesterday during Chinese New Year. I didn’t do anything in celebration of the new Lunar New Year. I really miss all the customs and festivities that my family used to engage in. These days, traditions fall by the wayside since everyone is just so busy! I have to say, starting NEXT YEAR, I’m taking up some traditions for Tomato & I. It’ll be fun. But seriously, WHERE ARE ALL THE CHINESE PEOPLE IN HARTFORD?!! I feel a little…alone 
Trying to Blog More Often
So here I am, trying to do this blog deal a little more often. Upon reviewing my previous months, archives have been ABYSMAL! I mean…SERIOUSLY?! Only 3 posts in the previous month? Wonder what was wrong with me 
Anyway, I’m here to share parts of my everyday cookery with everyone 
I honestly love cooking. Though I’m such a HUUUUUUUGE cheater! I want to make things from scratch but I’m always missing ONE KEY INGREDIENT or other!! How annoying. Currently being of the POOR, it really kind of sucks. Especially when I keep running into all these delicious recipes 
Anyways, I’m going to have to share a few pages of my “Cooking Diary” eventually. It’s not too filled currently but hoping to build it up into a great source for myself. I got the idea from My Name Is Kim SamSoon. I knew there was a cosmic reason as to why I keep collecting little notebooks with cute food on them….YES!
Anyway, let’s take a look at some recent meals. I’ve skipped the boring nice of leftovers and pizza 
A lot of my bento as of late have been rather boring as well 
Gotta step it up!!
Teriyaki Chicken & Veggies with White Rice: SIMPLE. Using premade/bottled sauce. Either steam or boil veggies for a few minutes (about half-way cooked is fine), stir-fry the chicken & sauce until coated and chicken is cooked, add veggies and stir until everything is coated, SERVE.
Breakfast of Champions! Again, breakfast is one of the easiest meals to prep. Personally, I think the only challenge is the order in which you cook things (assuming it’s on the same skillet). How does one keep the eggs HOT while the meats are cooking??! Cook the eggs last…in all the glorious grease?
Burgers & Tots: Store-bought dinner rolls turned slider buns! Ground beef with bread crumbs, A1 Steak Sauce, onion powder & salt & pepper. Topped with pieces of provolone cheese (1/2 of a slice per burger). Tater tots are Ore-Ida. LOVE mini things. I love how these are great in portion for bento and for fill (like when your eyes are bigger than your stomach situations).
I cook with bento considerations a lot of the time. Usually cooking enough for FOUR meaning, two servings for dinner and two servings for lunch the next day. It makes it convenient to assemble when you already have your food cooked and ready to go.
I suppose I have a strong affinity to food. It runs in my family, family friends, Tomato’s family I grew up in the kitchen. I suppose I’ll try and post about something else next time 
But I really am in love with food…err, next to the obvious Tomato & kitties that is
FOODIE, I am.
I meant to blog a lot sooner but a recent death on Tomato’s side of the family brought his dad & uncle back up for another visit. AND THUS, I must oblige entertaining guests. The wake was yesterday. I only met her once but she was a sweet doll. She being Tomato’s Great Aunt Toni. Rest in peace.

Though I hate deciding on what to make!! SO MANY THINGS!!! I can’t wait to get a bunch of things under my belt. I’m trying to get back into making bento. Damn, I am SO out of the loop!! I missed it so much!! I’m armed with some new ideas after stalking a bunch of blogs and sites. Hopefully I’ll be able to make something cool Or at least tasty
