Event, Haircut & Upcoming Trip
Sables, version 2
Wow, for the first time in a while, I have quite a few things to touch on. Firstly, backtracking to the other night at work where I had to help out at an event our restaurant was invited to participate in. Upon arrival, I discovered it was an event to fight hunger in the US: Share Our Strength’s Taste of the Nation in Hartford. It was fun 
It would’ve been more fun if I was hanging out and not serving during it 
Either way, twas fun. We were right next to the stage, the MC was hilarious and was chatting with us for part of the night and we got to attract some new attention to our restaurant.

Close to the end of the event, boss told me to go around and scope out the competition…and I brought back tons of what the other vendors were offering. Including tons of sliders, cakes, drinks, small bites, desserts in general, cards & paraphernalia to keep track of what came from where. Took home some treats too I was pretty full off all the bites I took out of things! Most excellent though. Free dinner by some of the best restaurants in CT! WOOT! WIN.

Next year, we’ll know what to bring (we made tons of yaki ramen…). Much more hand-held small bites & maybe some sake. There was tons of grape wine there…but no rice wine Overall, it was a good experience for the boss and the restaurant.
HAIRCUT! Got it cut…no picture yet. Getting it fixed tomorrow. There’s a piece that’s annoying me…needs to be CUT OFF. Will get a photo…eventually. And now, onto the upcoming trip infos…
Got the haircut, the outfits, various things that belong to VA/PA (pie pans, etc.), cat-sitter, days off, etc. We’re driving down to VA this Thursday evening for とまと’s father’s wedding confirmation (legally married, church ceremony not) on Friday. Staying until Saturday and then trekking over to western PA that evening to とまと’s mom’s home. Staying until Monday and then bolting over to Philly (eastern PA) that night for a day (Tuesday) with my family. Leaving for CT Tuesday night since we both have work on Wednesday. Huu….
Such insane plans, eh? Gonna be fun seeing everyone again! It’s been so long!! Can’t wait for this weekend Though, before we even start packing, there’s so much to conclude here such as making sure there’s enough food for the cats, nothing rots in the fridge, all the laundry is done, place is cleaned again to withstand our absence & cat-sitter (とまと’s cousin).
BODY PILLOW!! Get it?! Get it?!! XD So full of punssss HAHAHAH!
Other than that…yeap. Got some laundry to tend to so please excuse me and hopefully I’ll be back before I leave! Have a happy day everyone!
Oh! PS: Yesterday (May 10th) marks the 23rd month of togetherness for the とまと and I 
I treated us to dinner from Cheesecake Factory. Unfortunately, it fell on a Mother’s Day which meant the place was crazy packed!! But love to all the mothers out there!! 
Happy (Belated) Chinese New Year!
On being sick & the cold outside 
It was inevitable. I was bound to get sick in this environment. Some days are strangely mild and most are bitterly cold (sometimes with wind, sometimes without). My throat hurts when I swallow, I feel a mild fatigue and my nose won’t stop running! WHERE IS ALL THIS STUFF COMING FROM?! I’m getting over it….slowly.

I had a pang of “homesickness” yesterday during Chinese New Year. I didn’t do anything in celebration of the new Lunar New Year. I really miss all the customs and festivities that my family used to engage in. These days, traditions fall by the wayside since everyone is just so busy! I have to say, starting NEXT YEAR, I’m taking up some traditions for Tomato & I. It’ll be fun. But seriously, WHERE ARE ALL THE CHINESE PEOPLE IN HARTFORD?!! I feel a little…alone 
FOODIE, I am.
I meant to blog a lot sooner but a recent death on Tomato’s side of the family brought his dad & uncle back up for another visit. AND THUS, I must oblige entertaining guests. The wake was yesterday. I only met her once but she was a sweet doll. She being Tomato’s Great Aunt Toni. Rest in peace.

Anyways. I’ve been literally playing Cooking Mama. I’ve been A cooking mama. I’m cooking…a lot. I do love it. Though I hate deciding on what to make!! SO MANY THINGS!!! I can’t wait to get a bunch of things under my belt. I’m trying to get back into making bento. Damn, I am SO out of the loop!! I missed it so much!! I’m armed with some new ideas after stalking a bunch of blogs and sites. Hopefully I’ll be able to make something cool Or at least tasty
