Again! Again!!
OMGGG. Yeah.
Been gone for a while. Part of it due to some server/miscommunication/domain renewal/etc. and part due to the fact that I NEVER have what I need to blog with me when I have TIME to do so.
Let’s see. I am at work ALL DAY and my photos are mostly on my camera. I don’t really want to flood the work computer with my files so I tend to upload my stuff from the computer at home. Gonna try and use Flickr again…let’s see how this works out.
SO, let’s see, where to begin? Random stuff has been happening between the bouts of nothing. The weekend was particularly eventful. Lots of running around, errands, almost-apartment-renting, Chinese New Year talent shows & feasts, Valentine’s Day dinner with friends, passing out, cleaning, etc. So like I said, busy weekend. Firstly, from the snow storm last week…
Fun times in the snow
Kitties do NOT like snow. Pretty amusing. Tails were VERY FAT
The snow was intense. It snowed for a day and a half! there’s still about 1-2 feet of snow on the ground and the mounds of snow that are pushed off the roads and onto sides of streets are getting mountain-like
It’s hard to get into some driveways!
SUNDAY, the Tomato and I went out to Montgomery Community College for some Chinese New Year festivities by my little cousins’ Chinese school. There was a show, food and riddle contests.
Made some fresh chocolate sablés for Valentine’s Day. Packaged them into some cello bags with some kiddie valentines for my little cousins. They all enjoyed them
It was fun making them. Gonna have to make more next year. Underestimated the yield from the original recipe.
We chatted, ate, hung out and chased little kids around before heading out to grab some milk before picking up Ceci & Dave for Valentine’s dinner at Ted’s Montana Grill.
DELICIOUS FOOD. The chili was pretty damn good. Prices were fair. Bison meat is pretty damn awesome. Kinda wish it was more accessible. Would definitely use it instead of regular beef
The place is also super eco-friendly from their paper straws to the bathrooms and dining area. Pretty sweet.
Dinner was scarfed down, we chatted after emptying our plates. Chatted about such public-inappropriate things like bathroom adventures and whatnot
AHAHAHAHAHA! Oh man, twas a fun “quiet” Valentine’s Day celebration. Tomato also bought me some roses & a balloon. Haven’t taken a picture of them yet. Gotta get a vase long enough
It was a good weekend
Settled. At Work. Etc.
This is was pretty overdue. Thanks for all the well-wishing for the move! It was smooth and quick. Not even a traffic jam (not to mention nothing is broken either)! I’ve been home for a little over/under two weeks now and things have finally died down. There was quite a bit of hectic errand-running when we got here but Tomato is at work and so am I. Hopefully everyone got their new year’s postcard from my by now…if not…I’m out so sorry! Next year! On a similar note, thanks to all the blogging lovelies for your Christmas cards!
Hum, shop just opened so it’s rather quiet. Waiting for all the beer folk to come in and get their booze on…though it’s about 11:30AM and HOPEFULLY everyone who boozes is at WORK.
Hnn. We got to see my uncle’s baby the other night and he is such a DARLING little boy. Though…don’t know who he takes after. Doesn’t look very much like either of his parents
We also got to check out the outlets by his home and picked up a sweater & two striped henleys for about $45 Tomato got a really good bargain [$140 -> $64] in this nice jacket from Puma! SWEET. Gotta get this stuff on pupe.
Other than that, trying to catch up on LETTERS. I’ve spent quite a bit of time at home but for some reason or other when I actually pull out pen and paper, I end up having to go somwhere…hurr
Anyway, since I’m bored at work, I’ll get to work on those.
Kitcats are well. There was a bit of a hiccup at first with Apple not using the toilet so we put an elevated box where he kept peeing on the floor
and he’s stopped. But this also meants we’re re-training them to go on the toilet. FUNTIMES. They are AOK
they even sleep on the bed with us (haven’t done this since last winter!!). They’re at home being sleepy and cute.
Hum, gonna go and pretend to work or something. It’s intensely boring without customers to wait on…INTENSELY. Later later! Will have some pikchars up later.
PS: OMGGGGGGGGGGGG. Found a PURIKURA machine at the Korean plaza by the parents’ house! CAN NOT WAIT TO USE IT.
Event, Haircut & Upcoming Trip
Wow, for the first time in a while, I have quite a few things to touch on. Firstly, backtracking to the other night at work where I had to help out at an event our restaurant was invited to participate in. Upon arrival, I discovered it was an event to fight hunger in the US: Share Our Strength’s Taste of the Nation in Hartford. It was fun
It would’ve been more fun if I was hanging out and not serving during it
Either way, twas fun. We were right next to the stage, the MC was hilarious and was chatting with us for part of the night and we got to attract some new attention to our restaurant.

Tanuki staff @ No Kid Hungry event
Close to the end of the event, boss told me to go around and scope out the competition…and I brought back tons of what the other vendors were offering. Including tons of sliders, cakes, drinks, small bites, desserts in general, cards & paraphernalia to keep track of what came from where. Took home some treats too
I was pretty full off all the bites I took out of things! Most excellent though. Free dinner by some of the best restaurants in CT! WOOT! WIN.

Desserts snagged from event :D
Next year, we’ll know what to bring (we made tons of yaki ramen…). Much more hand-held small bites & maybe some sake. There was tons of grape wine there…but no rice wine
Overall, it was a good experience for the boss and the restaurant.
HAIRCUT! Got it cut…no picture yet. Getting it fixed tomorrow. There’s a piece that’s annoying me…needs to be CUT OFF. Will get a photo…eventually. And now, onto the upcoming trip infos…
Got the haircut, the outfits, various things that belong to VA/PA (pie pans, etc.), cat-sitter, days off, etc. We’re driving down to VA this Thursday evening for とまと’s father’s wedding confirmation (legally married, church ceremony not) on Friday. Staying until Saturday and then trekking over to western PA that evening to とまと’s mom’s home. Staying until Monday and then bolting over to Philly (eastern PA) that night for a day (Tuesday) with my family. Leaving for CT Tuesday night since we both have work on Wednesday. Huu….
Such insane plans, eh? Gonna be fun seeing everyone again! It’s been so long!! Can’t wait for this weekend
Though, before we even start packing, there’s so much to conclude here such as making sure there’s enough food for the cats, nothing rots in the fridge, all the laundry is done, place is cleaned again to withstand our absence & cat-sitter (とまと’s cousin).

BODY PILLOW!! Get it?! Get it?!! XD So full of punssss HAHAHAH!
Other than that…yeap. Got some laundry to tend to so please excuse me and hopefully I’ll be back before I leave! Have a happy day everyone!
Oh! PS: Yesterday (May 10th) marks the 23rd month of togetherness for the とまと and I
I treated us to dinner from Cheesecake Factory. Unfortunately, it fell on a Mother’s Day which meant the place was crazy packed!! But love to all the mothers out there!!
